ABOUT ME

IWaterFood is an innovative laboratory that is specialized in molecular identification of DNA / RNA viruses, parasites, bacteria and fungi. Scientific Responsible is Apostolos Vantarakis (Assistant Professor of Hygiene) of Department of Public Health, Medical School, University of Patras. The Center is located at the Department of Public Health of the Medical School, University of Patras and offers services of Research and Technology, Innovation, expertise, advice and training. It is supported by scientific staff consisted of 4 full-time researchers. IWaterFood is accredited by ESYD according to the ISO 17025 standard for microbiological and virological analyzes of water, sewage and food (certificate number 550-3).
The Center serves needs in the following areas:
– Water Quality control
– Food quality cont
– Health and Safety in Labour
The Centre maintains important partnerships with many municipalities, District Health Departments, Ministries, EFET and Private companies.
It also has significant partnerships with several European institutions:
COST Office, European Union
Department of Microbiology, University of Barcelona, Spain
University of Valencia, Spain
